Dr. Chen Lu is a brilliant Chinese nuclear physicist who becomes the supervillain Radioactive Man. Frustrated by the lack of recognition for his scientific contributions and fueled by anti-Western sentiments, Lu deliberately bombards himself with radioactive energy.

This process transforms him into a being of living radiation, granting him incredible powers. He can generate and manipulate radiation, project blasts of energy, and possesses superhuman strength and durability. His body constantly emits radiation, making him a danger to those around him.

Radioactive Man has frequently battled Iron Man, often acting as a pawn in larger schemes of world domination. While primarily an antagonist, he has, on occasion, demonstrated a sense of honor and even collaborated with heroes under specific circumstances, suggesting a more complex character than a simple villain.

Later appearances have shown a more nuanced depiction, sometimes even attempting to control his powers and atone for past actions.
